HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Several chicken markets in Casablanca have witnessed a noticeable price decrease in recent days, as the price of a kilogram has dropped from 24 dirhams to about 16 dirhams only.
This decrease comes after weeks of increases that angered consumers. Professionals in the sector attributed the rise to increased production costs and rising demand during certain periods, which directly reflected on the purchasing power of Moroccan families. In parallel, a number of citizens expressed their satisfaction with this decrease, considering that it would reduce daily living burdens, especially in light of the rising prices of a number of essential food items, while demanding the need to regularly monitor the market to ensure price stability and prevent any speculation that could return prices to their previous levels.
