Muhammad Saad Barrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports, confirmed that the ministry is working on implementing a large-scale program to rehabilitate a large number of schools this year, as part of improving schooling conditions and providing a decent educational environment for students in various regions of the Kingdom.
Barrada explained during a parliamentary session that this program comes within a comprehensive plan aimed at upgrading the infrastructure of educational institutions, especially in rural and mountainous areas that suffer from a lack of basic services. The minister pointed out that before the end of this year, about 4,000 educational institutions located in the mountains and villages will be connected to drinking water and sanitary facilities networks, stressing that this step will contribute to improving the quality of school life and reducing aspects of fragility that impede academic achievement. The aforementioned minister also stressed that the ministry places these projects among its priorities to ensure equal opportunities among all learners. Muhammad Saad Barrada added, saying: "It is unreasonable that any school remains without water or electricity," highlighting that work is ongoing to overcome this reality as quickly as possible. The minister called on the various interveners to coordinate and cooperate in order to make this vital national workshop a success, which reflects the state's commitment to improving the education system and ensuring the dignity of students and educational staff alike.
