HIBAPRESS – Agadir
The Agadir Court of Appeal, on Monday, October 13, 2025, sentenced university professor Ahmed Qilash to prison and a fine, after overturning the initial ruling that acquitted him.
The court sentenced Qilash to six months in prison with immediate effect, along with a fine of 10,000 dirhams. The court also obligated the individual in question to pay civil compensation of 10,000 dirhams to the civil claimant "Kh.M," due to accusations of defamation and character assassination based on gender. The Court of Appeal had overturned the initial ruling, which had acquitted Ahmed Qilash of the charges against him, and convicted him in this case. It is worth noting that this case is separate from the other case in which Ahmed Qilash is being prosecuted and is currently detained in Al-Oudaya prison in Marrakesh, related to the university certificates file.
