Moroccan citizens held the second position among foreign nationalities most purchasing real estate in Spain during the first half of 2025, acquiring 5,654 homes, following the British.
The Spanish website "lideractual" revealed that Moroccans were the most active among foreign residents, with a clear focus on the regions of Valencia, Catalonia, and Andalusia, reflecting their continued strong presence and interest in investing in the real estate market in the Iberian kingdom. The website added that foreign buyers accounted for 19.3 percent of total transactions, an increase of 2 percent over the same period last year, while purchases by foreign residents, including Moroccans, increased by 6.4 percent, while purchases by non-residents decreased by 4.1 percent. Regionally, Valencia topped the main destination for non-resident foreign buyers, while resident foreign buyers, including Moroccans, enjoyed large shares in Valencia, Catalonia, Andalusia and Madrid, reflecting a trend towards stability in these areas. According to "lideractual", Moroccan buyers recorded the lowest average price per square meter among the main nationalities, at 747 euros, compared to higher prices for American and German buyers, and the average price paid by foreign buyers rose to 2,417 euros per square meter, an increase of 7.6 percent compared to the previous year, with regions such as Madrid, La Rioja, the Canary Islands and Murcia recording record price increases. The website confirms that the Spanish real estate market remains a strategic destination for foreign investors, with continued growth in domestic and external demand, and the continued role of Moroccans in playing an important role among foreign buyers, whether resident or non-resident.
