Reliable sources revealed to HIBAPRESS that the appeals body of the Administrative Court in Marrakech decided a short while ago, this Tuesday afternoon, to uphold the initial ruling to dismiss the mayor of Sidi Bouathmane in the Rehamna province due to a conflict of interest.
The court's decision came as a shock to the Authenticity and Modernity Party, for whom "Taha Tarik," the mayor of Sidi Bouathmane, is one of the most prominent leaders in the Rehamna province. The administrative court ruled on appeal to uphold the initial ruling due to the conflict of interest, given that the mayor's father owned communal housing, in violation of the election charter provisions that prohibit a relationship of interest between the head of a territorial community and his ascendants or descendants. Our sources did not rule out that the lawyer of the mayor of Sidi Bouathmane would appeal the administrative court's ruling in the coming days, which opens the way to question the procedure that the authorities of the Rehamna province will take regarding this matter?
