Brazilian political expert, Fabio de Queiroz, confirmed that the new resolution adopted by the UN Security Council regarding the Moroccan Sahara issue consolidates the "pragmatic and effective" diplomacy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, noting diplomatic work based on realism and dialogue.
De Queiroz highlighted, in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, that October 31, 2025, represents the culmination of Moroccan diplomacy led by the King, as the United Nations recognized the autonomy initiative presented by Morocco in 2007 as the sole framework for reaching a settlement of this dispute. He clarified that the Moroccan approach adopted in this framework has, with the passage of years, enabled the mobilization of significant support, by attracting the support of major countries such as the United States of America, Spain, and France. He added that this achievement not only embodies the consecration of Morocco's historical sovereignty over its Sahara but also constitutes a major step towards a broader Maghreb integration. He said that this UN resolution represents the culmination of the diligent and continuous diplomatic efforts, exerted under the leadership of His Majesty the King, who succeeded in combining strategic vision and pragmatism, as well as steadfastly defending the sovereignty of the Kingdom, which proposed a forward-looking solution through the autonomy initiative. He considered that this recognition confirms the effectiveness of the Moroccan approach and strengthens the Kingdom's position as an actor capable of transforming complex regional challenges into opportunities for stability, cooperation, and joint development. The Brazilian expert in international relations also highlighted the regional dimension of His Majesty the King's call for a "sincere fraternal" dialogue with Algeria, and for the revival of the Maghreb Union. De Queiroz pointed out that these initiatives testify to a will to strengthen regional stability and cooperation in a context characterized by tensions, considering that they reflect a far-sighted royal leadership.
