Within the framework of the ongoing preparations for the city of Agadir to host the African Cup of Nations 2025 finals, and just 30 days before the continental event begins, Said Amazazi, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region and the governor of the Agadir Ida Outanane prefecture, led an intensive field tour this weekend that included a number of projects related to the preparation and preparation for this important sporting event. He was accompanied on this visit by representatives of the provincial interests, local development companies, and the regional multi-service company, in addition to the concerned technical cadres.
During this tour, the Wali reviewed the progress of the work to rehabilitate the center of the Ourir commune, where various projects showed clear progress, especially with regard to the rehabilitation of green spaces that rely on treated water, as well as the work of paving roads and installing public lighting poles. The visit also included a number of vital axes in the city of Agadir, where Amazazi inspected the most important streets and squares that will host new equipment aimed at serving the residents and visitors during the African Cup of Nations. This equipment included health and bathing facilities, kiosks, light meals, and services, after their locations were carefully determined according to functional and urban standards. The field inspection resulted in the selection of Anza Corniche, Wad Souss Street in the tourist area, Al-Inbiath Park, and the squares of Al-Sheikh Al-Saadi and Al-Najah streets to host these facilities, ensuring the diversification of urban services and improving the city's attractiveness. This approach comes in line with the urban dynamics that Agadir is witnessing and its rising tourist location, and by enhancing integration with the rest of the components of the African Cup of Nations 2025 program, which the Souss-Massa region oversees its implementation and monitors the progress of its projects. This field tour reflects the Wali Amazazi’s keenness to accelerate the pace of completion and ensure the readiness of various projects within the specified deadlines, ensuring a reception befitting the city's status and the anticipated continental event.
