HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyawi
A number of national promotion workers in several districts of the city of Meknes are experiencing a state of discontent and dissatisfaction after the delay in the disbursement of their monthly salaries for several months, which has caused them social and economic suffering, especially since a large part of them depends entirely on these meager incomes to cover the basic needs of their families.
According to testimonies given by a number of those affected, their salaries were not disbursed on the usual deadlines, without any official clarification about the reasons for this repeated delay, which deepened the sense of uncertainty among this vulnerable group. The workers confirm that the absence of communication from the responsible authorities increases the intensity of the ambiguity and raises many questions about the party responsible for this situation.
While the area of tension is expanding within the various districts of the city, the affected parties are demanding an urgent investigation to determine responsibilities and ensure the disbursement of their financial dues as soon as possible, in addition to establishing a clear mechanism that ensures the regularity of wages in the future, considering that the promotion workers perform essential field tasks in a group of public facilities.
Local sources also called on the regional authorities to intervene, considering that the continuation of this "unacceptable" situation affects the basic rights of workers and violates the obligations of the employing parties towards them. They also stressed the need to adopt greater transparency in managing salary files, especially for a group classified as the most socially vulnerable.
The question remains for the local public opinion: Will an official investigation be opened to determine the sources of the defect? And when will the suffering of these workers who have been waiting for the disbursement of their dues for months be ended?
