The customs officers working at Marrakech-Menara International Airport last night, Thursday, were able to seize two firearms, consisting of automatic pistols and cartridges, which were hidden inside the luggage of a Moroccan passenger coming from a European country.
According to HIBAPRESS sources, the operation took place during routine inspection procedures, where the "scanner" device revealed the presence of strange objects inside the passenger's luggage. The customs officers then thoroughly searched the luggage, which resulted in the discovery of the weapons and ammunition.
The passenger was referred to the airport precinct in order to prepare an arrest and seizure report, and referred to the judicial police based on the instructions of the Public Prosecution in order to deepen the investigation, pending his appearance before the court.
