HIBAPRESS – A. Muhyawi

On Monday, December 1, 2025, the Ifrane province witnessed a prominent health event with the launch of the services of the proximity hospital in Ifrane by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amin Tahraoui, in the presence of the province's governor, Mr. Driss Misbah, the new Secretary-General of the Ifrane province, and a group of elected officials and local authorities. On the same occasion, the remote operation of 30 new health centers distributed across various prefectures and provinces of the Fes-Meknes region was also launched.

A project consistent with the national reform of the health system

The inauguration of these health facilities comes within the framework of implementing the royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, aimed at reforming and qualifying the national health system, as well as continuing the implementation of the government program aimed at rehabilitating and equipping 1,400 health centers across the Kingdom.

A new hospital with modern standards and improved capabilities

The proximity hospital in Ifrane was built on an area exceeding two hectares, including 7,000 square meters covered, with a total cost of 132 million dirhams. Its capacity reaches 30 beds, with the provision of an integrated medical and technical infrastructure that includes:

Reception and admission department

10 specialized medical consultation rooms

A blood sampling unit comprising 4 rooms

4 physical therapy rooms

Rooms for functional examination

3 day-care rooms

A maternity ward equipped with 4 incubators and 4 postpartum rooms

Emergency department, radiology department, laboratory, and maternity hospitalization department

Various administrative and health facilities

To ensure the operation of this new facility, the ministry has mobilized 52 health professionals, including 7 doctors, 33 nurses and health technicians, and 12 administrative and technical staff, to provide health services to about 50,000 people distributed across 4 municipalities.

Efforts of the Health Delegate in the Ifrane province and his team… A key lever for the success of the project

Many observers have praised the pivotal role played by the Ministry of Health delegate in the Ifrane province and his administrative and technical team, who have worked throughout the past months to ensure the readiness of the new hospital in terms of organization, equipment, attracting staff, and improving reception and guidance conditions.

Thanks to this continuous field work, the delegate and his team were able to provide the practical and administrative conditions for the launch of the institution's services in the best conditions, making the hospital a real lever to improve the health offer and meet the aspirations of the province's population, who were in dire need of a medical facility of this level.

30 new health centers to enhance proximity and improve care

In conjunction with the opening of the hospital, the services of 30 new health centers in the region were launched, distributed across:

Meknes Prefecture: 9 urban and rural health centers

Taounate Province: 8 health centers and an important level of rural dispensaries

Sefrou Province: 3 rural centers and a dispensary

Moulay Yacoub Province: 3 rural dispensaries and an urban center

These centers, which fall under the new generation of primary health care institutions, aim to bring services closer to citizens, improve reception and guidance conditions, and provide a range of services that include general medical examination, follow-up of chronic diseases, maternal and child care, school health, health awareness, as well as epidemiological surveillance and mobile health.

A qualitative shift in access to treatment in the region

Thanks to these new projects, the health offer in the Fes-Meknes region is witnessing an unprecedented enhancement in terms of infrastructure and services, in a step aimed at responding to the increasing demand for treatment, reducing pressure on regional and provincial hospitals, and providing accessible, modern, and equitable health services.
