The police in the Marrakech Security Directorate were able, on Tuesday, December 2nd, to arrest a 29-year-old person, suspected of being involved in possessing items obtained from an aggravated theft targeting a foreign tourist.
The national security services in the city of Marrakech had opened a judicial investigation following a foreign woman being robbed by snatching by two people riding a motorcycle in the old city of Marrakech, which are the criminal acts that were the subject of a video posted on social media pages. The investigations and inquiries carried out in this case resulted in the arrest of the suspect, who was caught in the act of possessing the mobile phone obtained from the theft, before the identities of the two people suspected of being involved in committing the theft were identified, and the investigations carried out revealed that one of them is currently detained by the Royal Gendarmerie services on the outskirts of Marrakech on the backdrop of another case related to theft. The arrested suspect was subjected to the custody measure at the disposal of the judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, in order to reveal all the circumstances and backgrounds of this case, while coordination is underway with the Royal Gendarmerie services to deepen the investigation regarding the second arrested suspect, while the investigations and investigations are still ongoing with the aim of arresting the third suspect after his full identity has been determined.
