The head of the National Rally of Independents party, Aziz Akhannouch, confirmed today, Sunday in Rabat, the great importance of university professors in Moroccan society, expressing his appreciation for them in general and for the professors of the party's university professors network in particular. He mentioned that during the social dialogue that he oversaw with the trade union centrals, he was keen to ensure that the educational body obtained the privileges it deserves.
In his speech during the national conference of the university professors network of his party, Akhannouch thanked the Minister of Higher Education for what he considered a great job he is doing, recalling the important budget that the government has provided for the education sector, which is 17 billion and 300 million dirhams, which shows the importance of the sector. The speaker called on the university professors of the Rally to open the university to ministers and officials and to open up to society, to contribute to creating a public debate, about what has been accomplished at the level of the government program and what has not been done, pointing out that the national tour of the party "Path of Achievements" which will take place at the end of this month, its results must reach the citizen, to have their say in light of the cumulative dynamism that our country is witnessing. The Prime Minister recalled a number of government achievements in the sector, including that the number of Amazigh language professors in our country has increased from 200 professors at the beginning of the current government's term in 2021, to 1000 professors currently, explaining that the number of those who teach children has increased 5 times, and also university paths have been created, which allow students to change the division if they do not succeed in it towards another division. Akhannouch pointed out that the party is entering a new phase, explaining that next year will witness an expanded meeting with the university professors network of the Rally, with openness to other professors, in order to anticipate the future of education, the university, professors and the country, through participation in the expected programs in 2026, which will be eventful, according to the speaker. In a related context, Akhannouch recalled the difficult circumstances in which his government took over its duties, stressing that this government has been keen from the beginning on the continuation of the dynamics of the national economy, pointing out that the previous ten years witnessed the resort to easy choices in difficult circumstances, which is the suspension of investment, highlighting that everyone is witnessing the existence of an economic movement created by the current government despite the difficult internal and external circumstances. He stressed that these circumstances, marked by the repercussions of successive years of drought, the Corona crisis, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the Al Haouz earthquake, did not make the government forget the royal workshops for the social state, where compulsory health insurance was generalized, social support was provided for more than 4 million families, and support for the elderly over 60 years old and other social programs that contributed to the improvement of the conditions of Moroccans.
