On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the Governor of the Marrakech-Safi region, the factor of the Marrakech prefecture, Khatib El Hebil, chaired the second session of the Regional Human Development Committee, in a meeting dedicated to presenting the progress of the national initiative programs and reviewing the proposed new projects.
In his opening speech, the Governor stressed the central role of the national initiative in supporting local development, emphasizing the need to mobilize all stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the programs, especially in the fields of education, health, and economic integration of youth. During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made by the Social Work Department on the progress of implementing the 2025 work program, with an institutional report summarizing the achievements of the current year. The committee approved a package of new projects by signing 12 partnership agreements distributed as follows: two agreements in the program to promote human capital for rising generations, two agreements in the program to support people in vulnerable situations, and eight agreements in the program to improve income and economic integration of youth. On the sidelines of the meeting, the Governor of the region supervised the delivery of nine new cars that were purchased within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development. The process included five school transport cars for the benefit of the communities of Tesaltant, Essaada, and Souihla, two mobile social ambulance cars, as well as two utility cars directed to the student house of Tesaltant and the student house of Ouled Dlim. The meeting was attended by the head of the Marrakech prefecture council, deputies of the heads of the Marrakech and Mechouar Kasbah communities, representatives of elected councils, authorities, regional directors, and representatives of civil society, in the context of implementing the royal directives aimed at strengthening human development and improving living conditions at the level of the Marrakech prefecture.
