The General Directorate of Meteorology reported snowfall starting from 1400 meters, locally heavy thunderstorms, in addition to strong wind gusts expected in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in an orange alert, that the snowfall will affect the highlands of Al Haouz, Ouarzazate and Azilal with a thickness ranging from 50 to 80 cm, Ifrane, Chichaoua, Beni Mellal, Khénifra, Midelt, Taourirt and Tinghir with a thickness ranging from 30 to 50 cm, and Safrou, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Guercif, Taza and Boulemane with a thickness ranging from 10 to 30 cm. This will begin at 00:00 on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, until 12:00 on Wednesday, December 17. The Directorate also reported that locally heavy thunderstorms will affect Taounate, Al Hoceima, Ouezzane, Chefchaouen, Khénifra, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz and Taza, with accumulations ranging from 45 to 65 mm, in addition to Mohammedia, Safrou, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Fquih Ben Salah, Khémisset, Kalaat Sraghna, Settat, Khouribga, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Berrechid, Beni Mellal, Kenitra, Mediouna, Casablanca, Rabat, Nouaceur, Temara-Skhirat, Salé, Tangier-Assilah, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, El Hajeb and Meknes with accumulations ranging from 35 to 45 mm, while the amounts will range between 25 and 35 mm in each of Marrakech, Rehamna, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Sidi Bennour, Safi, Essaouira and El Jadida. This will begin at 20:00 on Monday, December 15, 2025, until 15:00 on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. The Directorate also indicated that strong wind gusts, with speeds ranging between 75 and 85 km/h, will affect Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Zagora, Tata, Sidi Ifni, Al Haouz, Guelmim, Tiznit, Azilal, Midelt, Boulemane, Guercif, Tinghir and Taourirt, starting at 06:00 am on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, until 06:00 am on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
