HIBAPRESS – Marrakech: Mohamed Daher
The Bahia Palace, located in the Medina district of Marrakech, attracts tens of thousands of visitors daily who are keen to visit a very old historical landmark. While the National Security forces have a remarkable presence to secure tourists, the services of the Municipal Council and the Regional Multi-Service Company are failing to fulfill their duties in repairing black spots.
In this regard, a sewage drain located on Ryad Zitoune Jdid Street near the Bahia Palace threatens the lives of tourists and Moroccan citizens. A foreign tourist had previously fallen into the drain and was miraculously saved after suffering serious injuries to her legs. This happened while the city is preparing to receive the fans of the Africa Cup of Nations, with the accompanying intensive media coverage, which could damage the kingdom's reputation because of such black spots.
