Since Saturday morning, hundreds of Moroccans have been held up for hours under the sun at the Bab Melilla border post due to a fault in the Spanish “smart border” information system.
According to numerous reports, the “smart border” information system has been damaged since this morning, hampering the process of crossing for Moroccans, who are forced to wait for hours under the sun.
After several attempts by Spanish authorities to resolve the problem, they were forced to begin the process of manually entering transit information, leading to high congestion and delays for hundreds of Moroccans, including the elderly, children and pregnant women.
