HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyaoui
The city of Ifrane witnesses, during peak tourist seasons, a large influx of visitors coming from various Moroccan cities, wishing to enjoy the beauty of nature and the charm of the mountain atmosphere. However, these visits, which are supposed to be an opportunity for rest and recreation, often turn into a tiring experience due to sudden weather fluctuations and the large overcrowding that exceeds the city's capacity.
Despite the tourist reputation that Ifrane enjoys, its infrastructure remains limited compared to the increasing number of visitors, especially during weekends and cold seasons. A sharp traffic congestion is noticeably recorded, and great difficulty in finding parking spaces, which multiplies the suffering of visitors and negatively affects the smooth flow of movement within the city.
Followers of local affairs believe that this situation raises real questions about the readiness of Ifrane to keep pace with the increasing tourist demand, and calls for thinking about urgent and sustainable solutions, including developing infrastructure, creating additional parking lots, and improving organizational mechanisms during peak periods, to ensure a balance between the beauty of the city and the comfort of its visitors.
Ifrane, which is one of the most prominent mountain tourist destinations in Morocco, today needs a more effective management vision, so that it remains a destination for visitors, not a source of their suffering.
