HIBAPRESS – Marrakech
Sources from the Imgdal commune indicated that a woman from the socially vulnerable residing in one of the villages of the commune, belonging to the Al Haouz province, is experiencing severe human suffering due to the difficulty of transportation to Mohammed VI Hospital in Tahannout to undergo dialysis sessions.
According to the available data, the woman suffering from kidney failure needs two dialysis sessions per week.
The sources mentioned that her distance from the hospital and the absence of a regular means of transportation force her to leave her home in the early hours and resort to "hitchhiking" in the open in difficult and dangerous conditions.
They confirmed that the suffering of this woman, along with the burden of poverty, the hardship of travel, and the severity of the chronic illness that has exhausted her health and weighed her down psychologically and physically, has made her live in a painful human situation that raises more than one question mark about the right to fair access to treatment, especially for vulnerable groups in mountainous and remote areas.
In a moving appeal, the woman appeals to the responsible authorities to enable her to have an ambulance to transport her regularly to the hospital to preserve her health and dignity and avoid the dangers of the road that threaten her life on every treatment journey.
The case brings to the forefront the suffering of kidney failure patients in rural areas and raises the urgent need for urgent humanitarian intervention that reflects the values of solidarity and cooperation so that the disease is not associated with isolation.
