HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
On Saturday evening, January 17th, the police elements of the Regional Security in the city of Al Hoceima managed to arrest three individuals suspected of being connected to a criminal network involved in organizing illegal immigration and human trafficking. This was based on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance.
The suspects were apprehended in the act of preparing to organize an illegal immigration operation towards Europe via sea routes, for the benefit of 20 candidates for clandestine immigration.
The search operations carried out within the framework of this case resulted in the seizure of an inflatable boat and a marine engine, in addition to a sum of money suspected to be from the proceeds of this criminal activity.
The process of checking the concerned individuals in the national security database revealed that three of the candidates for illegal immigration are subject to search warrants at the national level, issued by the judicial police services in both Sidi Slimane and Imzouren, for suspicion of involvement in other cases related to drug trafficking and issuing bad checks.
The three suspects and all candidates for illegal immigration have been subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, in order to deepen the investigation and uncover all the circumstances and details of the case, as well as to identify and arrest the remaining potential perpetrators of these criminal acts.
