The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced that snowfall, heavy rain or showers, a cold wave and strong winds are expected to be recorded, starting today, Sunday, until next Tuesday, in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in a warning bulletin of "orange" alert level, that snowfall is expected to be recorded starting from altitudes of 1300 meters, ranging between 50 and 90 cm in the provinces and prefectures of Al Haouz, Azilal and Ouarzazate, and between 30 and 50 cm in each of Chichaoua, Midelt, Beni Mellal, Tinghir, Ifrane, Khénifra, Sefrou, Boulemane, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taza and Taroudant, starting from today, Sunday, at twelve o'clock noon until Tuesday at six o'clock in the morning.
The same phenomenon is also expected to be recorded starting from altitudes of 1200 meters (ranging between 10 and 30 cm), in all the provinces and prefectures of Driouch, Figuig, Jerada, and Errachidia, Taourirt and El Hajeb, Chefchaouen, Chtouka Ait Baha, and Tiznit, and Oujda-Angad, starting today, Sunday, at twelve o'clock noon until next Tuesday at six o'clock in the morning.
The Directorate added, in a warning bulletin of "orange" alert level, that heavy rain or showers of 30 to 40 mm are expected to be recorded in each of the provinces and prefectures of Fahs-Anjra, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima and Driouch, today Sunday from two o'clock in the afternoon until eleven o'clock at night, as well as in each of Nador, Berkane and Oujda-Angad, on Monday from midnight until twelve o'clock noon.
The Directorate stated, in a warning bulletin of "orange" alert level, that a cold wave between minus 03 and minus 09 degrees is expected to be recorded in each of the provinces and prefectures of Tinghir, Al Haouz, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Guercif, Taza, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Khénifra, Fez, and Figuig, starting today, Sunday, until next Tuesday.
The same source continued, in the same bulletin, that strong winds of 75 to 90 km/h are expected to be recorded in each of the provinces and prefectures of Tata, Chtouka Ait Baha, Tiznit, Taroudant, Sidi Ifni, Tan-Tan, Guelmim, Assa-Zag, Tarfaya and Es-Semara, today, Sunday, from 12 noon to eleven o'clock at night, as well as in each of Figuig, Sidi Ifni and Guelmim, tomorrow, Monday, from twelve o'clock noon to eleven o'clock at night.
