A Surinamese delegation visited the city of Dakhla on Saturday to explore cooperation opportunities and learn about new partnership prospects.
The visit of the Surinamese delegation, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation of the Republic of Suriname, Albert Ramdin, falls within the framework of strengthening relations between Suriname and Morocco, by identifying promising productive sectors and reviewing structural projects in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region. Mr. Ramdin explained, in a statement to the press, that the aim of this visit is to give a new impetus to bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Suriname, which contributes to strengthening and expanding its fields. He added that "the working visit to Morocco is scheduled to sign a roadmap for cooperation for the period 2026-2028, in addition to other agreements", noting that the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region offers real prospects for cooperation, especially with other regions in Africa, Europe and South America, including Suriname. For his part, the acting director of the Regional Investment Center, Ahmed Ketir, confirmed that this visit enabled the delegation to review the regional development program and major projects implemented in the field. He added that this meeting provided the delegation with the opportunity to get to know closely the size of the ongoing projects and the development dynamics witnessed by the region. During this visit, the Surinamese minister and his accompanying delegation visited several projects, including an industrial unit for processing marine products, an agricultural estate, in addition to the construction site of the new Dakhla Atlantic port.
