The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, confirmed on Monday in the House of Representatives that what the Kingdom has achieved in the field of sports infrastructure was not by chance, but the result of a clear vision and continuous strategic investments, while criticizing attempts to disrupt these national achievements.
During his comments on the questions of the deputies related to spatial development, Aziz Akhannouch stressed that Morocco's organization of the African Cup of Nations was a real test of the effectiveness of its choices, highlighting that the national stadiums proved their high readiness despite the exceptional climatic conditions that accompanied the tournament. The Head of Government considered that the discourse that promotes the idea of "the absence of achievements" lacks objectivity, explaining that the heavy rainfall that the competition period witnessed did not affect the course of the matches, thanks to the quality of the infrastructure and modern drainage systems, which confirms, in his words, the robustness of public investments and their good management. He added that the technical and organizational success of the continental event reflects continuous work and a long-term strategic vision, aiming to position Morocco among the countries capable of hosting the largest sporting events according to the adopted international standards. In conclusion of his speech, Aziz Akhannouch stressed that these gains are a collective asset for all Moroccans, affirming that the Kingdom is moving steadily in its developmental and sports path, and is ready to host the 2030 World Cup with confidence and competence, inspired by the insightful vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which made Morocco a model in planning and achievement.
