HIBAPRESS – Rabat
A group of Moroccan students at the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, have requested the Kingdom's embassy to intervene to protect them from hostile and inciting rhetoric and attacks they are subjected to by some Senegalese crowds, in the context of the repercussions of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Moroccan students in Dakar complained in statements to "HIBAPRESS" about the ongoing incitement against them by some Senegalese crowds, explaining that in addition to the events that the city witnessed on the day of the match, the following days witnessed a series of attacks. According to a student's statement to "HIBAPRESS", a group of Senegalese attacked a fast-food restaurant owned by a Moroccan citizen and vandalized it, before attacking a Lebanese citizen, believing him to be Moroccan, and stealing what he had. Another student explained to the newspaper that the incitement against Moroccans continues to this day, amid continued fears of leaving their residences to buy daily necessities, which Senegalese citizens are forced to bring, in order to avoid exposing the students to any potential attacks. The students demanded through "HIBAPRESS" that the Moroccan embassy in Dakar intervene with the Senegalese security authorities in order to ensure that they are not exposed to any risks that could endanger their physical and psychological safety. The students expressed their hope that the Moroccan embassy would act as soon as possible, in order to coordinate with the Senegalese authorities to end this situation, which is no longer conducive to continuing their daily activities, including studying.
