HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Moroccan Games and Sports (MDJS) has once again renewed its certificates of conformity with the international standard for the Information Security Management System ISO/IEC 27001, 2022 edition, and the Security Control Standards of the World Lottery Association, 2024 edition.
The ISO/IEC 27001, 2022 edition, is a global reference in the field of classifying requirements related to the Information Security Management System. This standard provides the necessary tools for conducting an effective and accurate risk assessment and enabling the development of appropriate control mechanisms to protect the privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of information and its availability.
In addition to this, the Security Control Standard of the World Lottery Association (WLA-SCS: 2024) defines specifications for risk management, integrity, and security. It enables lottery institutions to achieve a level of control that complies with the best practices of the sector, with the aim of enhancing the trust and integrity of players in the field of lottery.
This edition, which was updated in 2024, strengthens the requirements in the field of cybersecurity, operational resilience, and the protection of sensitive data related to lottery and betting activities. In addition to introducing a more integrated approach to risk management, in full harmony with the international standard ISO/IEC 27001, 2022 edition.
In this context, a comprehensive audit, conducted by the VERITAS expertise office, concluded that the information management system, on which the development, marketing, sales, and operations activities of the Moroccan Games and Sports are based, fully complies with the required standards and the best international practices.
The renewal of these certificates, which are valid for three years and are subject to an audit for review each year, is a testament to the Moroccan Games and Sports' ongoing adherence to a reference framework of best practices in the field of data and information management, in addition to its constant keenness to adopt and apply the best procedures in the field of security and risk management.
Through its compliance with the Security Control Standards of the World Lottery Association, as it constitutes the only internationally recognized security specifications in the lottery sector, the Moroccan Games and Sports confirms its compliance with the highest standards of the lottery sector, thereby guaranteeing the reliability and integrity of the gaming operations it oversees.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan Games and Sports is a leader in this field. In 2005, it was the first gaming institution at the African level, and the 21st globally, to obtain the dual certificate of compliance with the global ISO 27001 standard and the World Lottery Association specification, and it has been renewing it ever since.
