HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Taxi drivers in the city of Mohammedia have entered a protest, condemning the deteriorated condition of the Bani Yakhlef road, which is one of the vital road axes that witnesses intense daily traffic.
The professionals confirmed that the road has become unusable due to deep potholes and the erosion of the asphalt, which causes frequent breakdowns of vehicles and endangers the safety of passengers and drivers. The protesters explained that the continued neglect of road repairs has caused them significant financial losses, as a result of the increasing costs of maintenance and repair, as well as the delays that affect work schedules and negatively affect the quality of service provided to customers. They also pointed out that the situation worsens during rainfall, where potholes turn into pools of water that impede traffic and double the suffering of road users. Taxi drivers demanded that the competent authorities and the territorial community intervene urgently to rehabilitate the Bani Yakhlef road, considering that their patience has run out in the face of unfulfilled promises. They also warned of the possibility of escalating their forms of protest if the situation continues as it is, stressing that the repair of the road infrastructure is an essential condition to ensure safety and the continuity of the transport facility.
