King Mohammed VI sent a condolence message to the family of the late Sheikh Larbas Ould Sheikh Mohamed Laghdaf Ould Sheikh Ma al-Ainain.
The King's message stated, "We have received with great shock and sorrow the news of the passing of the one embraced by God's mercy and forgiveness, the esteemed Sheikh Larbas Ould Sheikh Mohamed Laghdaf Ould Sheikh Ma al-Ainain, may God accept him into His grace, surrounded by His vast mercy and contentment."
The King added, "In the face of this painful affliction, which is beyond the decree of God, we express our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to you, and to all the relatives and loved ones of the righteous deceased, and to the honorable Al Sheikh Ma al-Ainain family and their kin. We implore Almighty God to grant you patience and solace, and to make your consolation in his good memory and in the sincere good deeds and abundant contributions he made during his life for his religion and his country."
The King said, "The departure of the great deceased is not only a loss for the venerable Ma al-Ainain family, but also a loss for Morocco, which has lost one of the most prominent religious, scientific, and social figures in the southern provinces of the Kingdom, known for his good character, noble qualities, and sincere national zeal. May God have mercy on him, he dedicated his life full of giving, striving to serve the supreme interests of our dear southern provinces in various fields, especially in education, religious guidance, judiciary, and social work. This was in firm attachment to the glorious Alawite Throne, and sincere loyalty to the nation's constants and sanctities, and a tenacious defense of the territorial unity of our noble Kingdom."
Among the contents of this message, it was also stated, "While we share your sorrows in this grave loss, we implore Almighty God to reward the righteous deceased with the best reward for the sincere work he rendered to his homeland, and to accept him among the righteous, with those upon whom God has bestowed His favor from the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. And excellent are those companions." His Majesty cited the noble verse, "Among the believers are men who were true to what they pledged to God. Some of them have fulfilled their vow [to die in battle], and some of them are waiting, and they have not changed [their commitment] in the least."
