HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Within the framework of the study meeting hosted by the House of Representatives in Rabat today, at the initiative of the Justice, Legislation, Human Rights and Freedoms Committee, and dedicated to discussing the annual report of the Ombudsman of the Kingdom, Hassan Tariq, the Ombudsman of the Kingdom, confirmed that the Prime Minister's circular issued on October 13 of last year was a pivotal point in facilitating the work of the institution.
Tariq explained in his intervention during this meeting that this circular contributed to shortening the distances between the Ombudsman institution and the public administration, and provided a clear reference framework that frames the relationship between the two parties, after a wait of more than two decades. Hassan Tariq considered that the document represents a fundamental pillar for the work of the institution, due to its role in valuing the function of the public addressee of the administration with the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman of the Kingdom added that the Prime Minister's circular explicitly called on ministers and heads of administrations to enhance coordination with the institutional mediation system, considering that this step reflects a positive shift in dealing with citizens' grievances, and contributes to consolidating a culture of cooperation within the administration, in a way that serves the principles of good governance and the rule of law.
