In a striking escalation, the five-union framework announced that it had officially informed the Ministry of National Education of its decision to withdraw from the work of the technical committee in charge of activating the new basic system, putting an end to its participation in meetings that it described as no longer going beyond the circle of repeated promises without any practical impact on the ground.
This decision came, according to those concerned, as a result of what they considered a continuation of the state of ambiguity and procrastination in dealing with fundamental files, headed by the issue of fair compensation for workers in remote areas, and the reduction of the time burden of working hours, as well as the demand to generalize the supplementary compensation to include all groups that felt marginalized in the previous formulas.
Faced with the deadlock of the dialogue, the unions chose to move the confrontation from the negotiating rooms to the street, announcing an escalating struggle program that includes national strikes and large-scale protest vigils, in an attempt to impose their demands through field pressure.
It is expected that this movement will be led by five-category coordinations representing administrative assistants, distinguished professors, and specialized frameworks, in an effort to unify ranks and strengthen the balance of power in the face of the government.
The educational workers attribute this increasing tension to what they consider the absence of any tangible developments in the recent meetings, where the ministry, in its expression, remained trapped in the rhetoric of unactivated commitments, which exacerbated the level of anger within educational institutions, and warned of tension that could cast a shadow over the academic season, in light of the unions' adherence to a clear slogan "no dialogue without results".
