The security services in the Cairo Security Directorate arrested the artist Mahmoud Hegazy, against the backdrop of being accused of harassing a girl inside a famous hotel in the police station district.
The circumstances of the incident began with the operations room of the rescue service receiving a notice from the police station stating that an official report had been filed by a girl against the artist, accusing him of assaulting her and harassing her inside the hotel hallways. Upon receiving the report, Major General Alaa Bashandy, Director General of Criminal Investigation in Cairo, directed security forces to quickly move to the scene of the incident, where the artist was arrested and taken to the police station to take the legal procedures.
The necessary report on the incident was filed, and the Public Prosecution was notified, which began investigations to ascertain the circumstances of the incident and to review the surveillance cameras to verify the validity of the accusations against him.
