HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
An educational institution in the village of Tinza, belonging to the municipality of Ketama in the Al Hoceima region, is experiencing a worrying situation that portends dire consequences, after heavy rainfall witnessed in the region during the past week revealed serious imbalances that threaten the safety of students, educational staff, and the continuity of studies.
According to data from the scene, the rain led to a noticeable erosion of the soil from the upper side of the institution, coinciding with clear cracks in the floor and structure of the school, which raises the possibility of collapse at any moment, especially since the institution is located next to a valley. Local sources confirmed that rainwater seeped heavily into the housing of teachers at the institution, causing a state of fear and anxiety, in the absence of any emergency intervention until now, despite the seriousness of the situation. The same sources added that the absence of protective supports or strong plant roots in the soil surrounding the institution increases its fragility against erosion, especially with the continuation of climate fluctuations, which raises questions about the standards adopted in choosing the location of this institution and the extent to which safety conditions are respected. In light of this situation, demands are increasing from the residents and educational staff for urgent intervention from the regional directorate of the Ministry of National Education and the competent authorities, in order to conduct an immediate technical expertise, and take emergency measures to secure the institution's surroundings and ensure the safety of its users, to avoid any accident whose consequences could be dire.
