HIBAPRESS
The Ministry of Interior has urgently called upon all citizens residing in the following territorial communities within the Larache province: Ksar El Kebir, Souaken, and Oulad Ouchih, as well as the industrial zone of Larache and the areas adjacent to the Loukkos River estuary, to strictly adhere to the instructions of the public authorities regarding evacuation and to comply with all measures taken, especially immediate evacuation, to protect lives.
This measure comes in anticipation of the repercussions of the expected climatic fluctuations in the coming days, and based on the early warning notices issued by the competent authorities, which indicate the possibility of rainfall reaching 150 mm in a short period in some areas, and the resulting exceptional and unprecedented water inflows, especially at the Wadi al-Makhazin dam, where the latest hydrological data indicate a record increase in its capacity, which may lead to significant pressure on its facilities.
In light of the technical data related to the current hydrological situation in the Kingdom, various public authorities, government sectors, and relevant services will continue, within the framework of comprehensive mobilization and continuous coordination, to implement all necessary measures to protect the population and ensure the safety of citizens and their property.
The Ministry of Interior affirmed that the situation requires raising the level of mobilization and strengthening joint action between the public authorities and the local population, who have expressed a high level of responsibility and awareness of the requirements of this circumstance, and a strong commitment to the measures and procedures taken.
