HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musaid
Under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, the city of Oujda returns to the forefront of the national scientific and educational scene, as the "Omar bin Abdul Aziz" Foundation organizes the thirteenth edition of the "Oriental Sciences Festival", from February 12 to 14, under the inspiring slogan: "Science for All, and with it we build tomorrow".
This year's edition takes on a special celebratory character, as it coincides with the tenth anniversary of the founding of the "House of Science for the Oriental Region", a project that has become a beacon for consolidating scientific culture and bringing knowledge closer to various societal groups, especially the younger generations.
The general program of this edition is characterized by its field-oriented approach, as 125 applied scientific workshops will be organized for the benefit of more than 9,300 male and female students, distributed across five preparatory educational institutions in Oujda (Moulay Ismail, Karkarat, Abdelmalek Essaadi, Al-Makki Al-Nasiri, and Al-Riyad). These workshops aim to develop scientific curiosity and critical sense among the youth, and to enshrine the principle of equal opportunities in accessing knowledge.
In parallel with the school activities, the Omar bin Abdul Aziz Secondary School hosts the "Festival Village", which will include 80 diverse scientific workshops. The village is expected to receive about 7,000 visitors, who will benefit from thematic spaces that include digital and urban transformation; physics and astronomy; and health and environment.
Also, the significant participation of major national institutions stands out in this edition, including the General Directorate of National Security, the Digital Development Agency, and the Regional Multi-Service Company of the East (SRM Oriental).
In response to current technological challenges, the festival has allocated an important space for digital transformation through 100 scientific and training workshops. "Cybersecurity" will also be highlighted through awareness workshops for the benefit of 100 families, in addition to organizing a major national competition in information security under the name "Cyber Drill" at the headquarters of "Zone 01" in Oujda, with the participation of 30 teams of talented individuals.
The festival's activities will conclude with a major closing evening on Saturday, February 14, at the Mohammed VI Theater in Oujda, during which the participants will be crowned and the partners and supporters who contributed to the success of this prominent scientific event will be celebrated.
It is worth noting that this festival falls within a strategic vision that aims to make the city of Oujda an open scientific platform, and a real laboratory for consolidating the culture of innovation, which contributes to preparing a generation capable of meeting the challenges of the future and contributing to urban planning and the successful digital transition of the Kingdom.
