The Regional Directorate of National Education in Taounate announced today, Sunday, the continuation of the suspension of studies in all public and private educational institutions, pre-school education units, and non-formal education centers in the region on Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th, and Wednesday 11th of this February.
The Directorate said in a news bulletin that the decision came following the warning bulletin issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology on February 8, 2026, which predicted the continuation of the turbulent weather fluctuations witnessed by the region. The Directorate also explained that the decision came in consideration of the condition of roads, mountain routes, valleys, and floods, and the difficulties and potential risks that may result, as well as the activation of the recommendations of the regional alert cell, and to ensure the safety of students and educational staff.
