HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Algerian journalist Walid Kabir commented on the return of the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, from Madrid, the Spanish capital, following an international meeting dedicated to presenting the Moroccan proposal for autonomy in the Moroccan Sahara issue.
The meeting witnessed the participation of the Kingdom of Morocco, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, along with the presence of representatives from the United States of America and the United Nations, with the participation of Algeria, the Polisario Front, and Mauritania. In his post, the Algerian journalist indicated that Attaf returned from Madrid yesterday before appearing at the headquarters of the presidency of the republic "with a very pale face," in a satirical description. Walid Kabir added that the Algerian Foreign Minister requested a period of time from the American sponsor of the negotiations in order to prepare the internal public opinion regarding what he considered Algeria's approval of Security Council Resolution 2797 and entering into negotiations based on the autonomy plan in the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty. The Algerian journalist concluded his post by emphasizing his supportive position for the Moroccan Sahara, reiterating his conviction that the Sahara "is Moroccan yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever."
