HIBAPRESS – Rabat

The ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Morocco, Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Saleh, praised the depth of the historical ties that unite the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Morocco, affirming the strength of bilateral relations under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Moroccan monarch, King Mohammed VI.

This came during a press meeting held by the Saudi ambassador yesterday at the Saudi embassy in Rabat, with representatives of a number of Moroccan media outlets, where he reviewed the outcome of bilateral cooperation between the two countries during the year 2025, through high-level official meetings and agreements signed in various fields, in addition to the growth of Saudi investments in Morocco.

Ambassador Al-Saleh also touched on the efforts made by the Kingdom to facilitate Hajj and Umrah procedures for pilgrims from different countries, pointing out the Saudi authorities' keenness to develop the services provided to the guests of God.

In this context, the Saudi diplomat provided clarifications about the "Makkah Route" initiative, which aims to facilitate administrative procedures for Moroccan pilgrims, by enabling them to obtain visas and complete the procedures related to travel within their country, ensuring them appropriate conditions in terms of comfort and security.

The ambassador explained that the initiative has enabled about 45,000 Moroccan pilgrims to benefit during the past five years, stressing that the success it has achieved in Morocco has prompted the concerned authorities to work on increasing the number of beneficiaries during the current season.
