In a tragic incident that took place in the town of Chilches, belonging to the province of Castellón, eastern Spain, members of the Civil Guard arrested a man suspected of being involved in the killing of his ex-wife and their 12-year-old daughter inside the family home.
Information indicates that the suspect, aged 39 and of Algerian origin, was subject to a judicial procedure that prevented him from approaching his ex-wife until 2027, after he was arrested in June 2025 on charges of assaulting her. The victim and her daughter were registered within a system for monitoring cases of violence against women, where their situation was recently classified as "medium risk," reflecting previous threats. According to the initial data of the investigation, the suspect is the one who informed the neighbors of the incident, claiming that he received a message from his daughter stating that they were in danger, and upon arriving at the house, he found them dead. However, his story did not convince the investigators, especially after examining the crime scene and analyzing the recordings of surveillance cameras. The investigations resulted in his arrest on suspicion of committing the crime, where it is believed that he killed the victims inside the house. The authorities are still continuing their research to uncover all the details of this crime and the circumstances of its occurrence.
