HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Several field visits have shown that markets across the Kingdom are characterized by a stable situation regarding the prices of agricultural products with wide consumption, where the supply situation appears to be good, after recording slight and temporary increases that coincided with consumers' demand for markets at the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
Observations show that the price of tomatoes has recorded a noticeable decrease, reaching 30% compared to last year, where the selling price to the public stabilized at 6.5 dirhams per kilogram, while the price in the wholesale market in Inezgane did not exceed 2.1 dirhams. This positive trend also applies to the poultry sector, where the prices of meat chickens are lower than last year's levels thanks to the regularity of production, which made it possible to set an average selling price of 16.3 dirhams per kilogram in retail stores. The prices of cereal derivatives are also witnessing a noticeable stability, where premium flour maintained its price at 4.8 dirhams per kilogram, and semolina at 10 dirhams. The indicators also showed a decrease in the prices of legumes, which relieves pressure on the purchasing power of citizens.
