HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Major work is underway in the suburbs of Benslimane to equip a special industrial zone that will host a massive factory dedicated to the manufacture of remotely piloted military aircraft "drones".
Morocco is moving towards strengthening its industrial capabilities in the defense field through a project that involves the establishment of a factory for the production and maintenance of drones, within the framework of a partnership between Morocco and the specialized Turkish company "Baykar", known for developing drones. This project comes in the context of Morocco's move to develop local defense industries and strengthen its technological capabilities in this strategic field. This project will be implemented through a Moroccan company called "Atlas Defense", with a declared capital of approximately 2.5 million dirhams, which will oversee the development of an integrated industrial chain related to drones. The project includes the production of a number of components of these aircraft, in addition to the electronic systems associated with them, which contributes to transferring part of the industrial and technological expertise to Morocco. The factory is also expected to provide maintenance services and technical support for drones, which will enhance the infrastructure associated with this sector and develop local competencies in areas related to defense and technological industries, in addition to opening new horizons for investment and industrial partnerships in this field.
