HIBAPRESS – I. Al-Smlali
Moroccan artist and producer Mohamed El Kghat revealed in a special statement to the "HIBAPRESS" newspaper that the remarkable success achieved by the character of Professor "Abdel Rahman" in the popular series "Banat Lalla Menana" exceeded his personal expectations, indicating that his participation came at the suggestion of director Chawki El Ouffir.
El Kghat expressed his happiness with the audience's interaction with the role, praising the artistic support and guidance he received from the artists Samia Akariou and Noura Sakali. He also clarified that this distinguished presence was not a coincidence, but rather a continuation of a series of previous acting experiences that he had undertaken away from his production roles. On the production level, El Kghat reviewed the details of his work on the series "Al Maddah," scenes of which were filmed over a week between the cities of Marrakech and Chefchaouen, stressing that the difficulties were limited to weather fluctuations and heavy rains, while a professional atmosphere prevailed under the direction of director Ahmed Samir Faraj. In a related context, El Kghat completely denied the claims that link the choice of Morocco as a filming location to the reputation of "magic and sorcery," stressing that the kingdom's attractiveness lies in its rare natural scenery and different visual culture, which is reinforced by the significant presence of Moroccan artists in Arab drama, recalling the names of artistic figures such as Tayeb Saddiki, Hassan El Joundi, and Mohamed Miftah, reaching to Rabii El Kati and Azz Elarab El Kghat and other senior artists. In his talk about reconciling his two professions, El Kghat affirmed that production remains for him the main "source of livelihood," while acting remains a passion that he practices out of love and artistic conviction, stressing that most of the characters he embodied were in works for other production companies for which he received a fee like the rest of the actors. El Kghat concluded his statement by pointing out that his criteria for accepting roles go beyond material or production interests, as he puts the quality of the script and the efficiency of the technical team as main priorities before embarking on any new characterization experience in front of the camera.
