The government council approved, on Thursday, draft decree number 2.26.266 related to the practice of the pharmacy profession, which aims to simplify and modernize the licensing procedures related to the establishment and opening of pharmacies and pharmaceutical institutions.
This project, presented by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amin Tahraoui, aims to adapt the administration to the requirements of digitalization and improve the quality of public services, through a comprehensive digitalization of licensing procedures and the establishment of a unified national electronic platform for managing licensing applications. The project also provides for assigning the management of these licenses to the Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products, in addition to unifying and simplifying the procedures for processing files, in line with the trends associated with the modernization of the administration. In this context, this decree is expected to contribute to reducing the deadlines for studying files, simplifying administrative procedures, and enhancing transparency in processing applications, as well as improving the experience of professionals and bringing services closer to users. This reform is also expected to contribute to improving the investment climate in the pharmaceutical sector and expanding access to organized and quality pharmacy services, especially in areas experiencing shortages. This project comes within the framework of implementing the provisions of Law No. 55.19 related to simplifying administrative procedures and measures, and enhancing the digital transformation within the public administration.
