HIBAPRESS – Mohammed Zarriouh
Elements of the Spanish Civil Guard managed to arrest two people of Moroccan nationality in the city of Murcia, after they were caught red-handed while stealing 500 kilograms of "mandarin" fruit from a farm in the municipality of Campos del Río.
The arrest took place during a security checkpoint, where patrol officers noticed a small truck loaded with large quantities of fruit, which aroused their suspicions and prompted them to scrutinize the vehicle's status. According to preliminary information, the suspects tried to flee as soon as they felt they were being watched, which led to the truck colliding with a police car. After that, they abandoned the vehicle and tried to escape on foot. But the rapid intervention of the Civil Guard prevented them from escaping, as they were arrested in a short time, and the stolen quantity was fully recovered.
