Security services in El Jadida have brought down the activities of a person suspected of involvement in a series of scams, after he impersonated a security officer and targeted users of electric bicycles in a number of cities.
The person in question used a clever trick, wearing clothes that suggested he was a police officer, and stopping his victims under the pretext of inspection, before stealing their means of transportation and disappearing. The case exploded after repeated complaints from victims in Azemmour, which hastened the opening of intensive investigations to track down the perpetrator. Coincidence contributed to accelerating his arrest after one of the victims recognized him, and security elements began a field operation to monitor him. His attempted escape ended unexpectedly, after his car was involved in an accident following a collision with a flock of sheep, which forced him to abandon it and flee on foot. However, the search operation enabled the seizure of clothing and accessories used to impersonate a police officer. In a short time, the suspect was arrested in El Jadida, and it turned out that he was wanted nationally in similar cases. He has been placed in custody pending the completion of investigations and the uncovering of the remaining threads of this case.
