HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Mustafa Baitas, the official government spokesperson, confirmed that the decision to support transport professionals comes in the context of regional tensions that have contributed to the rise in fuel prices at the international level, along with the state of uncertainty that the world is experiencing, which makes it difficult to predict the course of these repercussions.
Baitas explained, during the press conference that followed the work of the Government Council held on Thursday, that the government had adopted this mechanism before, and continues to activate it for the benefit of citizens indirectly, by supporting actors in the transport sector. The government official pointed out that this support aims primarily to preserve the purchasing power of citizens and ensure the stability of daily services, explaining that supporting taxi drivers falls within the framework of avoiding an increase in transport fares for citizens, while supporting the transport of goods aims to reduce the rise in prices of consumer goods. Baitas stressed that the government continues to take the necessary measures to mitigate the effects of international fluctuations, and ensure the continuity of essential services in the best possible conditions.
