The Government Council approved, on Thursday, a draft decree related to the election of members of the House of Representatives, presented by the Minister of Interior.
This concerns draft decree No. 2.26.279 amending and supplementing decree No. 2.16.668 issued on 6 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1437 (August 10, 2016), which sets the ceiling for electoral expenses for candidates on the occasion of general and partial elections to elect members of the House of Representatives.
The aim of this draft decree is to amend and supplement decree No. 2.16.668 mentioned above, which sets the ceiling for electoral expenses for candidates on the occasion of general and partial elections to elect members of the House of Representatives.
To keep pace with the development in the volume of electoral expenses for candidates during electoral campaigns for general and partial elections to elect members of the House of Representatives, the ceiling of electoral expenses for male and female candidates for the aforementioned elections has been raised from 500,000 dirhams to 600,000 dirhams for each candidate.
