HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The prices of fuel in Morocco experienced a new increase this morning, which raised a wave of concern among professionals and citizens, in light of the continued fluctuations in the international market and the absence of clear indicators of price stability in the near future.
The price of diesel rose by about 1.70 dirhams per liter, approaching the 15 dirham ceiling, and precisely in the range of 14.52 to 14.70 according to each station, while the price of gasoline exceeded this level after an increase of about 1.57 dirhams per liter, reaching between 15.52 dirhams and 15.80 dirhams. It is expected that these increases will be reflected in the prices of a number of goods and services, due to the increase in transportation and distribution costs, which will bring back to the forefront the discussion about price capping mechanisms and the role of the concerned parties in monitoring the market, at a time when demands are increasing to take measures to reduce the burden on consumers.
