Today, Friday, the Blue Flag badge awarded by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection was hoisted on the shores of Lake Aklamam-Azkza, as it is the first natural lake in Morocco to receive this prestigious award.

The Blue Flag raising ceremony took place in the presence of the Director General of the National Agency for Water and Forests, Abderrahim Houmi, the Governor of the Wilaya of Khenifra, Mohamed Fattah, elected officials of the region, local officials and civilians and military personnel. The figures.

In order to meet the Blue Flag standards and ensure the comfort of visitors to this lake located between a long slope and a forest of century-old cedars, Lake Agulmam-Azkza has undergone major preparatory work at the initiative of local authorities and local communities. This work involved strengthening roads and access points, and creating service and health facilities, as well as camping areas.

As a partner in the coronation of Lake Aklamam-Azkza with this badge, the National Agency for Water and Forests has contributed to various preparatory works and activities related to ecological, social, economic and environmental tourism in the Khénifra park and this site.

Subsequently, Messrs. Homi and Fattah initiated the rehabilitation works of two forest tracks covering the trails of Lake Tiklemamine and Ani Azarzu with the aim of preserving the Ajdir cedar forest and protecting it from fires, eliminating the isolation of the local population and contributing to the development of ecotourism in the Khenifra National Park, with a financial budget of approximately 3.9 million dirhams.

Work has also begun on the development of the Arukou recreational forest, which is a popular area for visitors and residents of the city of Khenifra due to its proximity to the Arukou springs.

This project aims to integrate forest management into an overall site framework, to encourage ecotourism, to promote the forest as an ecotourism destination and to provide a space for entertainment, relaxation and environmental education.

The preparation study, approved by all partners, includes the installation of chairs, tables, health stations, toys and sports equipment for children, as well as awareness panels and other equipment, with a financial envelope exceeding 4 million dirhams.

All of these projects are in line with the plans and programs launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which aim to embody the royal vision of achieving sustainable and integrated development.

Among these initiatives is the national forest development strategy, “Forests of Morocco 2020-2030”, which aims to resolve the problems of forest degradation and find a balance between preservation and development of forest resources.

Subsequently, the governor of the province and the accompanying delegation went to the commune of Moha and Hamou Al-Zayani, where they began construction work on the road linking Amalou and Tizi Nalsal, financed by the Regional Council of Béni Mellal-Khenifra, to the tune of approximately 21 million dirhams.

In the commune of Khénifra, an urban development project for the city of Khénifra was launched with a financial envelope of approximately 19 million dirhams.
