Saaid Amzazi, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, chaired today, Friday, April 3rd, the ninth session of the board of directors of the local development company Agadir Souss-Massa Amenagement, in the presence of elected officials and officials representing the contributing local authorities.
The meeting focused on assessing the 2025 results and approving the work program and budget for 2026, while following up on major projects that reflect Agadir's development dynamism and its preparations to host major sporting events. The Wali praised the efforts made by the various stakeholders, pointing to the completion of structural projects that included the development of road axes leading to the Grand Stadium, and the rehabilitation of reception facilities and public infrastructure, reflecting the city's readiness to organize global and continental sporting events under the best conditions. The company's financial data revealed a positive dynamic, where commitments for the year 2025 exceeded more than 2.14 billion dirhams, directed to important projects in the areas of urban development, the rehabilitation of neighborhoods, education, justice, youth and sports, as well as the rehabilitation programs of the cities of the Souss-Massa region. The company's management confirmed that the projects are proceeding according to the specified schedule, with measures taken to ensure the continuity of works despite technical challenges and time constraints, with a focus on achieving the set goals. As part of the 2026 program, the work focuses on accelerating ongoing projects, and launching new projects to improve the quality of life and enhance the attractiveness of Agadir and Souss-Massa, while emphasizing good governance and financial efficiency in managing resources. The Wali concluded the meeting by calling for doubling efforts, especially in the communities of Ourir, Taghazout and Drarga, to ensure balanced and comprehensive development, reflecting the city's ambitious development orientation, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory.
