The residents of the Jnane El Ouard area in the city of Fez were shaken today, Wednesday, by a tragic incident, after the discovery of the body of a newborn infant abandoned in the Ryafa area, in mysterious circumstances.
According to local sources, the body was found in an empty place by some citizens, who rushed to inform the competent authorities. Following this, various security services arrived at the scene, accompanied by civil defense personnel, where the site was cordoned off and a preliminary investigation into the incident was opened. Preliminary data indicates that the infant may be the victim of a difficult social situation, while no hypothesis has been excluded, including the possibility of being abandoned in secret circumstances. The body was transferred to the morgue at the regional hospital, Ghassani Hospital, in order to subject it to a medical autopsy that would determine the real causes of death. In parallel, elements of the judicial police opened an in-depth investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to uncover all the circumstances of this case and identify the potential perpetrators.
