HIBAPRESS
Journalist Hafeez Draghi tried to mislead Algerians by publishing an old celebratory clip in Blida, in order to conceal the terrorist events that the city near the capital had witnessed.
Draghi published the clip on his Facebook social media account, accompanied by a comment indicating that it documented recent celebratory atmospheres after the Union of Blida club's promotion to the second division, in an attempt to show the situation inside the city as normal, despite the controversy that followed the explosions. However, verifying the video reveals that it is not related to the recent events, but rather dates back to previous celebrations by the team's fans in 2024, on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of its founding, which exposes the falsehood of the narrative that Draghi tried to promote. This comes at a time when the controversy is increasing around the way some media voices deal with such events, amid accusations of trying to influence public opinion by publishing content that suggests stability, in conjunction with calls to limit the circulation of photos and information related to the explosions. In contrast, developments in Blida have received international media attention, with increasing calls to reveal the circumstances of the events, especially in light of the ongoing ambiguity and conflicting data. Some countries have also called on their citizens to exercise caution when traveling to Algeria during this period, including the United Kingdom, which has placed it among the destinations that require caution and attention.
