A new dawn has broken in Marrakech, and the city has donned a new attire to welcome its visitors as an icon of tourism in Morocco.
A visitor to the city cannot deny the structural transformations that Marrakech has witnessed thanks to pioneering projects launched by the Municipal Council led by Fatima Zahra Al-Mansouri, and significant financial allocations were allocated for it. These projects have positively reflected on the population as well as the tourism sector, and their impact has extended to the movement of traffic, which has become smoother thanks to the widening of the main streets, starting from the entrance to the city on Abdelkrim El Khattabi Street, Mohammed V Street, Allal Al-Fassi Street, and Prince Moulay Abdellah Street, in addition to the operation of the "Iziki" and "El Ayachi" tunnels, which facilitated traffic on the road to Essaouira and the road leading to the city of Tamensourt. Renovation projects extended to the renewal and strengthening of public lighting in all main streets, as well as the renewal of sewage systems, to avoid the city in the future any risks in the event of heavy rainfall. The renovation works of Jamaa el-Fna square, the beating heart of the Red City, continue, where the square's floor was completely repaved with high quality, and a tender was launched to adopt a new shape for the carts that furnish Jamaa el-Fna square. While the general public and tourism professionals in the Red City welcomed these projects with joy and appreciation, some parties adopted a language of doubt and misinformation, even though the figures speak the truth and confirm that all projects have been completed in accordance with the specifications after launching transparent public tenders. This disruption, which extended to social media sites, intensified with the approach of the legislative electoral entitlement, which confirms that it is a right intended for falsehood.
